Writting a will

A will can be a hand writen will or with a notaries. The first one cost more when you dies but nothing now. The secondcost less overall if done once but more if you need to change it often.

In Quebec without a will(Testament) if your partner dies you have NOTHING! Without it all goes according to the Civil code to the family and the common law partner is not consider a family member

If the decease person was renting an appartment the contract will continue, if someone lives with the person they in the 2 first mounth ask to get the contract transfer to them if they want. if no one lives with the person or the person living with don't want to continue the rent. a 3 months notification with 3 months payement of the rent is necessary.
